ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Hydraulic Designer you will provide design and coordination services. This position will give you the opportunity to manage your own projects and be part of other projects in the office in a team support and project review capacity. In this role, you will have ongoing support from a Senior Hydraulic consultant.
DUTIES
- Provide design and contract documentation of Hydraulic services including hot and cold water, gas reticulation systems, waste, stormwater, sewerage and drainage systems, fire hydrant and fire hose reel services for a range of residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional and mixed projects
- Attend sites to review existing services
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labour to determine project feasibility
- Prepare project design reports, specifications and budgets
- Provide assistance with fee proposals
- Client interaction and management
- Project management and regular site visits and site defects reports
- Liaison and coordination with other project engineers and architects via email, phone and project coordination meetings
- Provide site administration support
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Standards and Construction Codes for Plumbing
- Experience completing hydraulic services design is preferable
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously under limited supervision
- Computer competence
- Diploma of Hydraulic Services (or equivalent) is advantageous
- Experience with Fire Sprinkler Design and an understanding of AS 2118 is desirable.
- A Junior Position may be considered for the right applicant.
