This role represents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to secure your next permanent role working on a major power station project in Tasmania for a globally renowned mining company. 

This role requires you to relocate to Launceston, Tasmania and relocation assistance will be offered to interstate candidates. To be considered you must demonstrate considerable experience working on the maintenance of power station projects in Australia. 

The opportunity
  • Your main role will to be to develop and strategise a maintenance plan to prolong the life of the plant.
  • You will then execute your maintenance plan to ensure all equipment maintenance requirements are implemented for new capital equipment.
  • You will then defines and maintains the technical blueprint for the plant and equipment including the approval and governance of the change in management process;
  • And this will be done in accordance with relevant processes, standards and performance targets for HSEC
 
About you
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
  • A minimum 7+ years’ Electrical Engineering experience in heavy industry, smelting or refinery environment;
  • Proven asset management experience / maintenance strategy;
  • High voltage systems experience;
  • Experience in low voltage distribution and control systems, PLC and SCADA programming;
  • Understanding of arc flash risk and safe operation and testing of electrical plant and equipment;
