Industrial and Mechanical Draftsman
We are an award winning sheetmetal and fabrication workshop located in south Brisbane. We manufacture and deliver custom products and services to a variety of industries.
We deal with residential projects, commercial works as well as product development for the 4wd off road accessory industry.
About the role-
As a drafter your key objectives is to use Autodesk Inventor to produce sheetmetal and weldment models, and shop drawings for our workshop. Creating 3D CAD modeling for new products or using customer drawings to provide further detail to our team. Developing flat patterns for sheet metal and creating DXF files for laser cutters would be a day to day activity.
Role to commence immediately upon successful application
About You & Experience-
We are seeking a candidate with the following attributes:
- Highly experienced using AutoDesk Inventor AutoCAD
- Sheetmetal modelling experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in Industrial and Mechanical design
- Manufacturing background in the metal fabrication industry an advantage
- Strong Communications skills both written and verbal, and the ability to listen to client instructions.
- You will need to have a willingness to learn, be inquisitive and have exceptional attention to detail.
Duties & Responsibilities-
- Concept models and drawings for quoting.
- Help project managers and trades persons with layouts and material profiles.
- Using AutoCad to draft jobs
- Assisting with product design
- Shop drawings for our fabrication workshop.
- Working alongside estimators and assisting with product development
