• Oversee capital works program related to public safety

Working for a busy metropolitan council you will be responsible for delivering a capital works program related to Public Safety programs.  Already approved and funded your role will be to manage the delivery of the works program from design through to commissioning.  Whilst the role is contract based, the works program is scheduled to run for around 18 months.

Ideal Candidates will:

• Possess excellent communication skills that will allow you to liaise with a range of stakeholders ranging from the police and community groups around areas of public safety concern, internal council departments on the design and placement of installations that will adhere to the character of the area, through to providing members of the public on updates on projects and answering general queries.
• Understand that the project complexity comes from managing multiple smaller projects within a larger program of works and will have experience managing both consultants and contractors in the delivery of an overall program of works as opposed to being responsible for one main contract with a large construction budget.
• Ideally (but not essential) will be given to candidates who have worked on the delivery of infrastructure related to Public safety such as the design and installation of protective bollards, gates, CCTV programs, lighting and other allied projects
• Will have worked on projects that impact on the public realm, and as such are likely to come from a Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture qualification.
• Preferably have experience working within the public sector.
