About the role

 

A career opportunity is currently available for a Senior Engineer within our new network optimisation team. You will be required to undertake an integrated asset planning approach across many groups within the Water Corporation to optimise decisions around asset investment timing and scope, management of risk and improving customer service levels with respect to metropolitan conveyance planning for wastewater and water schemes. This role is based in Leederville and will be reporting to the Manager – Network Optimisation.

 

What the role will offer

 

  • Lead improvements to network model development processes working with relevant business areas to improve efficiency and accuracy of model builds and updates
  • Develop processes to document network functional control and configuration management processes
  • Prepare monitoring and assessment programs to investigate network integrity and manage model calibration
  • Undertake and lead network optimisation studies
  • Undertake the development of capital, operating, regulatory, monitoring and maintenance plans associated with water loss management activities and wastewater network performance
  • Develop investment programs, business cases and projects that mitigate risk and meet our investment objectives
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding network optimisation development and recommendations

 

Key skills and experience 

  • Degree level qualification in relevant engineering discipline
  • Relevant experience in conveyance planning for wastewater and/or water schemes
  • Hydraulic modelling and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills with exposure to report writing and presentation skills
  • Financial analysis skills including discounted cash flow analysis
