The Senior Engineer - Signal and Communications is responsible for overseeing the overall adequacy of engineering activities and ensuring that all compliance with regulations, design standards, processes and procedures are met.
Reporting to the Engineer Manager – Signal and Electrical, you will review signal design for potential anomalies in accordance with signal design principles and relative standards. The successful incumbent will have the lead role in type approval submissions of signalling related equipment / systems as well as contribute to the preparation of business plans and budgets. You will provide the technical engineering expertise for the development of maintenance standards for signal and communications infrastructure.
To be successful in securing this role you will be tertiary qualified in an Engineering discipline and hold a current valid driver’s licence as travel to work sites may be required. You will possess sound knowledge of signalling network technical and engineering standards, principles, system specifications and practices with in the rail industry. You will hold strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to solve problems both autonomously and in a team environment.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview, national probity (police) check and medical examination in line with the National Standard for Health Assessment for Rail Safety Workers.
