Wood is currently recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Melbourne Water located in Brooklyn. We are looking for a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience in Structural, Mechanical and piping detail design and drafting with site installation experience. Multiple Scopes includes detailed drawing preparation, procurement and site installation works and the preparation of safety and quality documentation.

Wood has sixteen years’ experience providing maintenance services to Australia’s water industry and our achievements have been considered world class best practise for maintenance in water utilities by the MCP AIMS.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop scope of work for client approval
  • Project plan, resources levelling and recommended schedule contingency and basis
  • Enforce and maintain high HSE standards throughout project delivery
  • Ensure the correct procedures and specifications are in place for the project or programme of projects
  • Aim to meet target KPI's for assigned project
  • Conduct and participate in project risk assessments

Skills / Qualifications

  • Successful candidate must be able to manage multiple scope works, administer/control construction works and lead/champion project HSE requirements
  • Extensive experience in the management of multi-disciplined water utilities projects or other relevant industries
  • Practiced in project control mechanisms and with commercial and technical risk assessments;
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver to deadlines
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong site experience
  • Practical problem solving skills
