We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Senior Engineer Streetlighting to be located in Port Macquarie.

The Senior Engineer Streetlighting will join our Maintenance department of Asset Management and Engineering to reshape our Streetlighting maintenance assets plans. If you have strong commercial acumen and data analysis skills, are a collaborative team player and love working with a diverse range of stakeholders this job is for you!

Proven extensive engineering expertise, preferably in Streetlighting or in a regional utility provider, and 10 years postgraduate engineering experience is desired.

The Role

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the stewardship of Essential Energy’s street lighting assets across our network. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of equipment technical specifications, oversee the tender evaluation process, inspection methodology improvements and ongoing maintenance requirements.
  • Inspection plans, inspection intervals and remediation steps in relation to corrosion and its impact on network assets.
  • Analyse and problem solve design, system life cycle development and program issues surrounding planned and unplanned Energy Network projects.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the businesses key objectives, including council consultation, negotiation of equipment and standards.
  • Strategically enable and establish ongoing commercial partnerships for current and future network opportunities.
  • Research and foster key business, regulatory body, stakeholder and customer relationships ensuring Energy Network projects and process improvement opportunities are successfully implemented. 

About You

You will have professional engineering experience, preferably in a similar Streetlight engineering role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry. You will also have proven experience in complex problem solving of technical issues and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. 

 Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor of Engineering Science (Power/Electrical or Civil/Structural) or equivalent to satisfy graduate membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia
  • Strong Asset Management/knowledge experience coupled with sound commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to manage implementation and monitoring outcomes of enterprise required audits and recommended process and data improvements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver technical services in a professional and timely manner
  • Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
