Due to the recent success in new business awards, we are seeking a highly skilled CAD Drafter for a contract period of 12 months, available to start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Perform Engineering design of components to agreed concept within timing and cost objectives.
- Liaise with Engineering, R & D, Tooling and Manufacturing Groups to ensure that the design meets the required criteria.
- Implement injection moulding tool feasibility principles into CAD models.
- Carry out three-dimensional surface or solid modelling work for new product designs
- Satisfy internal and external customers through effective participation with the Design Engineering Team.
- Maintain all the necessary records, document data base description and other engineering data for drawing control.
- Use existing CAD parts to develop new designs.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of design for automotive industry and injection moulding products and tools.
- Good 3-dimensional visualisation skills.
- Minimum three years as CAD Draftsperson.
- Knowledge of CAD system, 3-D modelling skills (CATIA v5 is essential).
- Knowledge of automotive techniques such as SPC, Taguchi, QFD and DFMA.
- Engineering qualifications Degree/Diploma in mechanical design or equivalent is desirable
