Position Summary

Council is seeking to appoint a Development Engineer to join the Planning and Development group, based in the Customer Experience business unit.

 The purpose of this position is to provide specialised professional engineering contributions to the development assessment process and strategic infrastructure planning for new land development and re-development within Gladstone Regional Council, in a manner which provides the community with a high level of confidence in Council staff and processes.

 

About you

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

2. Substantial experience in interpreting engineering plans and studies.

3. Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ) certification, or ability to rapidly acquire.

4. Experience preparing, analysing and interpreting Engineering advice and Plans.

5. Experience in applying and enforcing guidelines, relevant Acts and Regulations, engineering guidelines and standards.

6. Knowledge of and experience in the application of Integrated Development Assessment System and planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure and facilities.

7. High level of collaboration and negotiation skills to successfully engage and influence key stakeholders.

8. Experience communicating with developers, service authorities, consulting engineers and senior management.

9. Demonstrable skills in planning, prioritising and organising work activities for self and others.

10. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.

11. Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
