Due to the growth of our business and an expanded portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated SE/SA Engineer to join our team. 

As part of the Transport and Resources team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to system and safety assurance. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to developing the system and safety assurance services of our business, supporting our clients and building a profitable Transport and Resources team.   

The SE/SA Engineer will undertake design, project management and consulting services within system and safety assurance, in order to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will: 

  • Be responsible for producing works associated with systems and safety assurance under supervision. This includes; Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering and Management, Systems Integration, RAM, Interface Management and Safety Assurance.

  • May be responsible for executing responsibilities as outline in Arup’s Quality Management System.

  • Be required to work on defined tasks or projects under supervision;

  • You will be responsible for managing your own workload, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines;

  • Be responsible for providing information in an articulate and organised manner, following Arup’s established processes and procedures.

  • Be expected to work under supervision within a defined area of responsibility on systems engineering or safety assurance design. This may include being responsible for specific parts of an external design project.

  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining your own CPD record that is aligned with Engineers Australia or equivalent.  

You will have demonstrated:

An understanding of the following systems and safety assurance areas:

  • Systems Engineering
  • Requirements Definition and Analysis

  • System Architecture

  • Systems Integration

  • Interface Management

  • RAM

  • Safety Assurance

With recognised tertiary qualifications in a relevant field of Engineering, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in design, project management and implementation in your field, within a consulting business environment.  

You will possess demonstrated excellent attention to detail along with high-level verbal and written communication skills.  Additionally, you will have proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.  The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. 

Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
