This is a senior position within Hydro Tasmania’s Civil Assets team, Assets and Infrastructure. Under the technical leadership of the Manager Civil Assets, you will contribute to the achievement of the strategic direction of the Civil Assets team. You will offer effective life cycle management of the civil asset portfolio and real time engineering services and decision making in support of Assets and Infrastructure’s goals.
Recognised by your peers as an experienced engineering professional within your discipline you will maintain sound, up to date and relevant knowledge and understanding of the status of Asset and Infrastructure’s assets, plant risk and performance capabilities.
In addition you will have key technical accountabilities across:
- The contribution to Assets and Infrastructure’s sustainable and commercially responsive asset management through the delivery of fit for purpose engineering expertise and solutions
- Contributing to the tactical and operational management of Asset and Infrastructure’s assets
- A commitment to the safety and environmental performance within your own team
- Innovation through identification and application of emerging technologies where there is business benefit
To be considered for this role:
You will be an experienced engineering professional with technical expertise in dams and associated disciplines. With demonstrable experience in the design of dams, application of quantitative risk assessment methods and dam safety emergency planning preparedness. In addition, you will have excellent problem solving and analytical skills which cover strategic, technical and relatively complex operational problems in the context of ambiguity and change. You will have the ability to communicate with influence at all levels, and a track record in building strong, collaborative working relationships. Showing a commitment to values based decision making you will have the ability to think strategically and make commercially viable decisions.
You will hold professional engineering qualifications in an appropriate discipline acceptable for admission as a Member to the Institution of Engineer, Australia.
