About the job
Staying true to their vision of becoming a fully automated, low energy, low environmental impact plant, ATP has recently upgraded much of their plant and equipment with state of the art technology including a water treatment plant.  Reporting to the GM and working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, you will ensure the organisations assets are maintained and operating to a high standard, in line with ATP’s strategic plan.
  
This innovative role will oversee the effective management of the company’s plant and equipment, planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, preventing and responding to breakdowns and ensuring it runs smoothly and reliably to help increase the efficiency and capacity of the ATP business.
  
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in the development of the engineering/capital works budget and deliver major engineering projects – on time and on budget
  • Ensuring system disruption and downtime is minimised
  • Review and implement systems and procedures across the engineering function of the business to maximise efficiencies and minimise risk
  • Manage environmental health and safety to ensure plant and equipment meets regulatory standards and are understood by all employees
  • Providing technical engineering support to manufacturing
  • Educating and training other managers, and developing the skills of your team members
About you
To be successful with your application, you will demonstrate the following:
  • Relevant and significant experience and success in a similar role
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Prudent commercial judgement and ability to enforce practical policies
  • Success in driving operation efficiency and outcomes
  • A background within the Rendering or Recycling industry would be beneficial
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a high performing team

They specialise in recycling perishable material generated by animal by-products from the human food processing industry. They play an essential part in protecting the environment by converting waste material into valuable ingredients for various soaps, cosmetics, toothpaste, pharmaceuticals, leather, textiles, lubricants and bio diesel etc.
