Our business in Australia is expanding rapidly and we are seeking Human Factors/Ergonomics expertise to join our team in Sydney, and be part of delivering a number of major transport, aerospace and defence projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Provision of human factors/ergonomics expertise, to support project Human Factors activities and requirements.

Conduct Human Factors reviews on technical system design specifications.

Develop and maintain Human Factors assurance and design requirements.

Design and conduct operator task analysis based on document and procedure reviews, direct observation and operators interviews.

Identify and consider tasks that will be impacted/need to be changed and provide reports with appropriate health and safety recommendations.

Organise, facilitate engagement and consultation with a variety of diverse stakeholder groups.

Write robust structured reports and evidence based strong recommendations.

Experience and Qualification

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Factors / Ergonomics or Health and Safety.

Tertiary qualifications in Human Factors/Ergonomics and/or Behavioural Science are essential.

Chartered, or equivalent professional status from a relevant institution (e.g. CPE, MHFESA, C. ErgHF etc.), will be highly considered.

Team player and exceptional communication and dialogue skills are essential.

Special Requirements

The ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Knowledge and proven application of with Human Factors methods including; task and workload assessment, cognitive ergonomics, environmental design, organisational behaviour.

Demonstrated skills in a systematic structured approach to task assessments based on document and procedure reviews and observation.

High level written and verbal skills, using simple, clear and concise language with a diverse group of stakeholder.

High level problem solving capabilities including the ability to plan, be proactive and deliver against commercial targets and objectives in a dynamic business environment.

Knowledge of rail/heavy industry highly desirable.
