We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, passionate and committed individual to join our Fire Engineering consultancy firm.

If you have a degree in engineering and a minimum of three years’ experience and have a desire to take your career further, we would love to hear from you.  We have expanded rapidly and we’re looking for an individual who has the drive and passion to help continue this expansion.  We are a small team of experienced fire engineers and due to the level of growth we need one or more individuals to assist with meeting the expectations associated with such expansion.  While we are an extremely busy consultancy, we also appreciate the need for some flexibility, work/life balance and fun.

As part of your role in the team, you will be responsible for:

• Building and maintaining client relationships to secure new work by actively networking and marketing.
• Provide input for job costing, projected work load and fee preparation activities.
• Ensure that expectations are known, managed and fulfilled within program and project constraints.
• Participate and represent the consultancy in internal and external meetings as appropriate to discuss client issues, proposals, new opportunities and marketing strategies.

You will have the following:

• Technical experience of fire engineering from first principles through to successful implementation of your designs.
• Previous project and client management skills.
• Willingness to provide support to professional and graduate level staff.
• 3 or more years' experience in Fire Safety Engineering within a consultancy environment.
• Exposure to negotiations with approval authorities on performance based designs
• A strong background in the use of computer based modelling
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Positive approach to work and capable to work under pressure
• Ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently to meet objectives
• Interest in developing your career further within the fire safety engineering field

You will report to the consultancy owner who is the Principal Fire Engineer.

As a Project/Senior Fire Engineer you will have the opportunity to provide input into the management of the business.
