Salini Impregilo S.p.A, an industrial Group specialising in the construction of major, complex projects throughout the world, and NRW Civil and Mining, a leading provider of diversified services to the resources and public infrastructure sectors, are jointly delivering one of Western Australia's most transformational public transport projects, the Forrestfield-Airport Link. 

Salini Australia Pty Ltd are providing services to the JV and are interested in hearing from Mechanical Supervisors / Workshop Managers, who have hands on mechanical maintenance experience in overseeing a workshop for various mobile plant such as Loaders, Excavators, Cranes, Trucks, Forklifts etc.. used .for construction works.

The prime focus of the role will be planning, leading, organising and supervising day to day activities in the mechanical workshop controlling the quality of repairs, safety of equipment and the management of the workshop crews.

Requirements expected of you will be to:

  • Manage all aspects of the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Keep maintenance and repair records filed and up to date and monitor equipment for serviceability and safety
  • Keep records of labour, materials and spare parts necessary for repair and maintenance
  • Control the release of serviced and repaired equipment with special attention to their safety
  • Plan, organise, schedule minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor and update the preventative maintenance program
  • Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stock replenishment
  • Assign work to mechanics based on their skill level
  • Be responsible for the preparation of equipment for technical inspection in order to obtain and renew certification
  • Organise the daily running of Mechanical workshops, oversee all work being undertaken
  • Liaising with Chief TBM Mechanic and Plant Coordinator for daily and future requirements
  • Organise materials, spare parts and equipment to be available and returned as required
  • Compile daily workshop, manpower and material reports highlighting spares usage and future requirements
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment for future work
  • Assist in carrying out site inspections and organising future preventative work and repairs
  • Carry out safety inspections of workshops and organise improvements were required
  • Ensure workshops are operating in a safe and responsible manner 

To be considered for this role, the following is essential:

  • Trade Qualified Mechanical Tradesman
  • Ideally 5 + years of experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge of both Fixed and Mobile Plant equipment
  • Knowledge of mechanical and safety regulations for WA
  • Experience supervising all workshop activities, especially technical issues
  • The ability to work quickly, effectively and positively in a demanding environment
  • The ability to work well under pressure
