SGQ Pty Ltd is a privately owned and operated company with depots in Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, and the Sunshine Coast. SGQ provides a broad range of services for Civil Construction Infrastructure throughout regional Queensland. We are currently looking for a Civil Site Supervisor with experience in civil construction infrastructure works to become part of our team and develop within the company.
Based in the Sunshine Coast area with site travel throughout regional Queensland expected, the ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of civil construction works, sound communication skills and be self motivated.
The Civil Site Supervisor is responsible for leading crews of up to 20 or more people including the supervision of sub contractors.
- You will have a commitment to safety and have an understanding of sound WH&S industry practices.
- You will understand planning and be able to direct workers and subcontractors on a day to day basis.
- You will keep a comprehensive daily diary and have basic computer skills.
- You will enjoy working in a friendly outdoor environment with a requirement to travel to projects when and if required.
The Role
- Relevant "from the ground up" civil construction experience in a supervisory capacity;
- Experience in bulk earthworks, material compaction requirements, pavements and laying services;
- Work hard to ensure crew work outputs exceed company and client expectations are met.
- Planning for the project/s on a daily basis ensuring, quality and productivity outcomes are met.
- Close supervision of subcontractors ensuring safety, quality and productivity requirements are met.
- Ensure clear daily records are kept.
- Liaise on a daily basis with people at all levels of the industry in a professional manner.
- High level planning, budgeting, reporting and analytical expertise;
- Understanding of regulatory, governance and community requirements;
- Successfully developed and delivered project management plans and systems;
- An ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in a high volume work environment;
- Relationship management, conflict management and resolution and problem solving expertise, with an ability to think outside the box;
- A commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of safety and health above all else.
Ideally, this position will suit an individual who has a minimum of 8 years plus senior supervision experience in civil construction for private developments and/or government authorities. You will enjoy creating and producing outputs to high and demanding standards. In return an excellent remuneration package.
