About the Position:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Assistant for a Auckland based project. This position will be a permanent, full time role in duration commencing early July 2018.
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for providing business development support to the Business Development, Pre-Contracts and broader Project Delivery Teams to increase work winning opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop market research methods and indicators to identify prospects and potential clients
- Maintain up-to-date data banks on market conditions, target sectors and identified competition within target sectors.
- Develop focused strategies (including marketing strategies) to position end-to-end Project Delivery capability in the market place.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to determine the probability of winning projects to assist in the total forward planning for the business.
- Actively engage with existing and new clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to identify, analyse and evaluate business development opportunities
- Prepare, review and/or edit guides, research papers, reference works, reports, contract documents and other related documentation
- Maintain briefings on project status both pre and post tender in conjunction with the Business Development Manager
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the Construction or Resources industry.
- Previous market research and communications experience highly desirable.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of standard work-winning practices and procedures.
- Excellent analytic, written and interpersonal skills.
- High level of computer literacy with word processing, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
It is essential that you have a clear criminal history and understand that you will be required to go through a full criminal history check with the Ministry of Justice.
