Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) has been contracted by Melbourne Metro Rail Authority, on behalf of the Victorian Government, to design, build and maintain the stations and tunnels for the Metro Tunnel Project. CYP brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners, Lendlease, John Holland, and Bouygues Construction, that possess the world's best experience in tunnelling, engineering and construction.

The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.

To assist in the next phase of our mobilisation, we are looking for experienced Planners to join our Construction team on this iconic Melbourne project.

Key accountabilities include;

  • Produce and assess detailed project plans for all stages of the project, assist gin ensuring delivery to contractual deadlines via Primavera.
  • Compare progress with target program highlighting contract deadlines
  • Provide advise on appropriate techniques, sequences and equipment for all activities, understanding how critical path is maintained.
  • Analyse construction methods and systems with a continuous focus on improvement and cost savings
  • Ensure excellent project controls in place; provide accurate reporting and forecasts including weekly and monthly reports and dashboards.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate the following;

  • An absolute commitment to ‘Safety First’ practices and lead by example
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within large-scale Heavy Civil construction environment with a relevant engineering degree
  • A commitment to excellence and high-performance in a ‘right first time’ environment
  • Understanding of contemporary methodology and production delivery within TBM and Mined Tunnels construction utilising Primavera.
  • Appreciation of the importance of ‘One Team’ understanding the importance of partnering with project support teams such as Safety, Quality, Community and Environment.
  • Ability to engage with and communicate at all levels driving positive outcomes
  • Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Show an appreciation of commercial issues and understanding of representing the project’s best interests always.
