About the company:

Our client develops and manages some of the largest and most important Victorian infrastructure assets that benefits our national economy. Following a busy 2017, our client is currently in an exciting growth phase involving the delivery of multiple projects over the next several years.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this role is for a fixed term of 3 years. Our client is currently in the schematic design and approvals phase of the project which involves engaging contractors, consultants, service providers and government agencies through more than 30 different contracts. You will be responsible for managing the administration of all project related contracts in accordance with their terms and to a high standard. This role will also assist the project team in reporting critical contract related issues and analyzing and verifying contractor's claims.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contract Administration and compliance (including contract administration audits)
  • Invoice verification and tracking
  • General claims management and variation claim analysis
  • Document management associated with contracts and commercial
  • Project accounting and cost control
  • Ongoing procurement support to the project team

Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in Contract Management, Procurement Management and Contract Administration in Large scale ($100 M plus) infrastructure projects
  • Degree or Equivalent qualification in Contract/Project Management, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • High level communication skills at all levels (written and verbal) and the ability to undertake negotiations with suppliers in the resolution of disputes
  • More than five years’ experience in managing the commercial/contractual aspects of major civil infrastructure projects, preferably within Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in Early Contractor Involvement/Managing Contractor projects
  • Demonstrated investigative and analytical skills including the ability to use MS Excel, Database and Reporting systems
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement and innovation opportunities in processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders in providing expert contract management advice to enable achievement of desired outcomes
