Programmed Industrial Maintenance is a specialist provider of maintenance and project services with more than 1,200 employees and 15 years' experience. We provide maintenance solutions to the resources, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors across Australia.

 Due to continued growth and success we have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to support our Vic/SA/Tas Operations.

Based at our corporate offices in the Melbourne CBD, your primary focus will be to support the Vic/SA/Tas operations to help drive a positive HSEQ cultural change within our business, internal stakeholder network and work in close collaboration with our client base to ensure a safe working environment for our field employees who work at our clients manufacturing and mining sites. In addition, you will work closely with our shared services injury management team to ensure effective injury management, as well as to ensure that the states meet all statutory and contractual requirements and obligations. The position will include regional and interstate travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key client, operational & HSEQ representatives to leverage positive change
  • Share incident learnings, innovations and improvements that may influence the HSEQ focus
  • Support client site HSEQ intervention or initiative and engage with internal stakeholders in its delivery
  • Prepare regular reports on region HSEQ matters as required
  • Regularly attend HSEQ meetings and ensure that regular reports are disseminated to the business

Safety Leadership:

  • Promote a zero harm culture that follows Programmed’s safety beliefs and empowers all employees to be involved in HSEQ matters.
  • Pro-actively take action to protect people and the environment
  • Promote the rigorous reporting of incidents and hazards and work with State Management to ensure investigations identify and resolve root causes.
  • Ensure that all individuals involved in incidents are treated with care and empathy, fairly and with respect.
  • Coordinate local implementation of the Programmed Groups safety initiatives.

Key Requirements for the Role:

  • A diploma in WHS or the equivalent
  • Cert IV in TAFE or equivalent
  • Auditor qualifications OHS (desirable)
  • ICAM Training (desirable)
  • Additional qualifications in WHS (desirable)
  • Knowledge of OHSE legislation
  • Experience in various industrial environments
  • Knowledge of workers compensation in Vic/SA/Tasmania
  • At least 3 years experience in a HSEQ role working for a similar sized business.
  • A trade background (desirable)
  • Experience in FMCG – Food Industry (desirable)
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
