About the role
Located at our Jimblebar mine site in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, the Construction Superintendent will have an onsite presence to ensure effective coordination of the Construction Team’s activities. The Superintendent will have accountability to deliver the construction phase of projects to meet our client expectations as well as the company's business and profitability objectives. The FIFO roster for this position will include 14 days on, 7 days off.
About you
- A minimum of 10 years construction supervision experience working within the Resources industry.
- An intimate knowledge of construction processes, particularly in the areas of program planning, management, field surveying, project reporting, variations/delays and project completion in a mining environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong motivation on ensuring positive client outcomes that maintain a commercial focus.
- An ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders, whilst effectively managing conflict as it arises.
- Telecommunications industry experience is highly desirable
- Experience supervising crane operations, telecommunications rigging, detailed earth works, concreting and/or DC Power systems highly desirable
Key accountabilities

You will make appropriate decisions around allocation of construction staff and resources to achieve project outcomes.

You will foster an environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and ideas to ensure continuous improvement within the team.
- Excellence in Service Delivery: You will ensure the company’s contractual obligations and objectives are identified and understood by suppliers, contractors and staff. You will develop and implement process activities, including those of suppliers, subcontractors and consultants. You will maintain and build on a number of key external and internal working relationships.
- Putting safety and health above all else: You will demonstrate and drive the team towards a culture that places safety and health above all else. You will implement and monitor SHEQ policies, procedures, performance and ensure they comply with VPL and our client’s requirements.
