ESTIMATOR - CONCRETE & FORMWORK

Our client is a subcontracting business to the Commercial and Civil Construction market providing Concrete and Formwork quality solutions throughout Western Australia.  Our client operates with integrity, has an unparalleled depth of knowledge and is consistently delivering a quality product and service to their clients.

This role will see you be the sole Estimator within the business.

You will have an opportunity to implement processes, systems, procedures to the company.  Our client values input from all of their employees and will allow you to use your initiative and run the department as you see fit.  You will also have an opportunity to work across the front end business Development side of the business as well as working through Contract Administration.


More detail surrounding the role, will involve the following responsibilities;
 

• Review tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions
• Undertake accurate material take-offs and calculate man hour estimates
• Obtain highly competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services
• Assist with construction schedule and planning to execute the project
• Develop construction methodology identifying synergies and savings
• Analysis of supplier and subcontractor quotes & negotiation to ensure competitive quotes
• Liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Contracts Administration on an ad hoc basis
• Submitting progress claims and supporting documents
• Capturing & pricing variations
• Assisting operations by ordering materials, collating QA/QC documentation and raising TQs/RFIs
• Business development – follow up on quoted works and also target new clients

 You will need to have;

1. Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar is essential
2. Possess proven experience estimating for large scale civil construction and infrastructure projects
3. Have a prior background in Estimating in the civil construction industry, with a minimum of 5-8 years experience.
4. Possess strong analytical, problem solving, organisational and project management skills
