The Role:

An opportunity now exists for an Insurance Building Supervisor to join our team. You will be responsible for attending sites, preparing site reports and quotations. The successful applicant will also be supervising jobs, ensuring each is completed in a professional, cost effective, timely manner using quality materials and trades to complete the job within specified time frames to adhere to client and internal KPI's. You will be supported in the role by our team of Repair Coordinators.

 

What we're looking for:

We're seeking a self motivated team player with a positive attitude, integrity and the ability to work without direct supervision, achieving set company targets and KPI's.

An extensive background within the building industry, preferably in carpentry or within a similar role is essential. Prior experience within the insurance industry will be viewed as advantageous.

A confident and professional phone manner, excellent communication, organisational and dispute resolution skills are a must, as is a sense of urgency, honesty and the ability work well under pressure.

This role involves quite a lot of time managing jobs through the use of our cutting-edge database and therefore competent computer skills are essential.

Remuneration is negotiable and subject to experience.  

Key Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance companies and subcontractors both verbally and in writing
  • Preparation of reports and quotes for submission to insurance companies
  • Managing jobs to meet budgets and time frames
  • Engage, coordinate and manage trades to completion of repairs
  • Dispute/issue resolution as required
  • Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
  • Updating of company database and external databases as required
  • Receipt, distribution and management of company emails through Outlook
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience as a Qualified Carpenter, or within a similar supervision role
  • Current trade licence in building or a related discipline
  • Prior experience or an understanding of the insurance building industry is highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Neat and tidy presentation
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Familiarity with OHS practices, legislation and regulations
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated
  • Computer literate with knowledge in the use of Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Current and valid drivers licence
  • Your own reliable vehicle is required however a vehicle allowance will be provided
