Detail information about job Materials Procurement Manager - Fit-Out / Refurb / New Build. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Established and respected national commercial fit-out/refurb and new build firm
  • Variety of high end commercial, hospitality, luxury and govt. projects to $100m+
  • Great culture, career progression and pipeline of work with A grade clients

Our client is an established and successful head contractor who have built a reputation as a respected tier 2 nationally operating company. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Materials Procurement Manager. Projects range from smaller up to about $100m+ and are of a fit-out, refurbishment and new build nature.

Principally this is a role that involves procurement of materials suppliers under nationally agreed agreements.

Currently our Client has limited trading arrangements with any materials suppliers.

This role will also involve assisting in further developing its materials supply chain. Once trading relationships with suppliers have been established by this person they would then be expected to develop those relationships and ensure that they are fully utilised as part of the operations of the company throughout the year.

Initially these arrangements will be set up on the basis of providing rebate on an “Indirect basis”. That is to say the business will where possible specify the relevant supplier who works with a subcontractor such that in return for this an “indirect rebate” is provided to the business.

Direct trading relationships will also be established with suppliers in due course to provide “direct rebate” once the Business understands where this can be implemented without placing undue risk on the operations of the business.

The candidate will be expected to have their own developed relationships with suppliers such that they can bring these relationships to the business immediately.

The candidate is to be expected to have the skills to know the maximum indirect and direct rebates that can be secured from all supplier relationships and where the maximum rebated revenue is able to be made according to the type of materials that provide the greatest rebated financial returns.

Personal Characteristics:

Our Client requires an individual who is highly collaborative with people and a savy negotiator who knows how far to push a business arrangement such that the Business prospers from the best financial deals without damaging the relationships between companies.

This person must be self motivated with excellent communication skills and will report directly to the Commercial Manager.

Should this prove successful to the business then the Business will encourage growing this role (headed up by this individual) to optimise the revenue that can be made available.

This is a great opportunity to work with an established organisation.
