A medium sized Electrical Contracting business that supports well-established Tier 1&2 construction companies is currently is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their fast-paced team in Melbourne’s north.

The business delivers electrical design & installation service and maintenance services on construction projects up to a total build value of $100+ million in Victoria. It is now wanting to increase its client base in the commercial building sector and is looking for the right person. 

The key goal of the role is to assist the Estimating team & build strong customer relationships in the business target market space and deliver profitable business from those market spaces.  As such the responsibilities of the role is to:

• Be experienced in pricing projects +$5M 
• Price projects & minor works in accordance to the overall strategic business plan
• interpret scope of drawings, produce specifications, quantities, duration dates and project terms and conditions
• inject innovative options into the cost estimates to differentiate our business value to customers
• Interfacing with the client regarding scope and tender clarifications, (pre & post tender), and attendance when required at customer tender presentations.
• understand and communicate project build risks and understand the financial implications of those risks
• build and maintain relationships with our clients and their estimating teams to ensure a continuous and profitable flow of work for the business.

The essential personal criteria the person must have: 

• proven experience as an electrical estimator who understands the broader construction perspective
• Electrical trade qualification
• Excellent attention to detail
• have an understanding of electrical design and construct and maintenance activities, whether this is from hands-on experience or in an Engineering Capacity.
• have organisational skills and the ability to achieve tight deadlines.
• positive influencing skills to assist decision-makers - both our customers and our team members
• experience in using Estimating Software and Databases, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Proven negotiation skills
