An opportunity has just arisen for an experienced Safety Manager to join a well established and highly regarded International Construction group who work primarily in pipeline & renewable energy sectors. They have built their reputation on the delivery of high quality projects/services and promote a "zero harm" culture. Their completed projects portfolio is impressive and includes projects in oil & gas, water/waterwater, solar and wind.

As the 2ic to the Head of Safety, you will play a key role in the development & influence of the safety function throughout the business. Developing & implementing processes and procedures across the group, you will spend 70% of your time in the corporate head office in Melbourne and 30% of your time on site helping to cover cycle breaks. A key leadership role in the business, you will play a key function in  managing the safety obligations of the company, compliance, keeping on top of legislative changes and be responsible for ensuring a strong safety culture 

Other area's of responsibility include;

• Promote continuous improvement across all areas of Safety
• Maintaining the Safety Management System 
• Coordinate and manage the site audit program
• Conduct site safety reviews and maintain visibility
• Monthly reporting and analysis of Safety activities
• Lead and coordinate Safety initiatives

This role will suit someone with a strong background in safety who has a facilitator as opposed to a policing approach to their role and additionally someone who has strong experience in the pipeline construction sector. Your presentation levels will also be important as the successful person will be one of the key people on the project, working with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and working very closely with the senior management team.

To secure this role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in OH&S, current first aid qualifications, training experience and have held a similar role in the civil construction industry. This role seeks someone looking to take the next step in their safety career as you progress into a more corporate role.
