We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Procurement Manager within our EC&M construction business. This will be an initial 10 -12 month contract position, with the potential to be extended to tag into a larger project.
This is a FIFO role on a 10/4 roster, out of Brisbane. The key purpose of this role is to lead project supply and procurement delivery in a manner which optimizes Downer's profitability whilst ensuring a high standard of quality is adhered to.
The successful candidate will have a solid contracts background and the ability to source high quality products within required timeframes. Key requirements of the role are as follows:
- Ensure the delivery of Procurement and Supplier performance in accordance with the Operational targets
- Oversee stock purchased, strategic sourcing projects and productions
- Become aware of and comply with all relevant corporate policies;
- Engage with all relevant program stakeholders, including delivery team, operations team, corporate procurement, legal, finance, etc.;
- Manage change control for the program for both time and cost;
- Process all contract variations for approval;
- Engage with other program stakeholders to understand time and cost impacts of any proposed change.
- Meet and approve new suppliers as needed
- Manage staff
- Produce monthly report
- Obtain cost savings from suppliers
- Participate in strategic Planning
- Approve purchase orders in line with authority levels
- Assess and approve new suppliers
- Establish SLA’s with strategic suppliers.
Key Requirements:
- Purchasing and contract management experience – minimum 5 years
- Strong understanding of construction and supply contracts;
- Strong communication skills;
- Project management
- High computer literacy
- Understanding of Quality Management systems
- Well-developed knowledge of teamwork principles, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
