Element Five/VCON is a leading the way in design and build of and luxury boutique and medium density apartments and housing in Victoria. Established for over 20 years, focussing on high end residential construction, we offer an innovative Design and Construct solution to our clients.
We currently have an opening for an up and coming estimator, looking to grow their knowledge in high-end construction. You will have previous experience in construction, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Assisting senior estimator in tender preparation
- Able to read architectural plans & specifications and develop cost estimates
- Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc
- Review, evaluate & vet quotes by subcontractors
- Prepare take-offs
- Document control, project filing
- Tender preparation
- Communicate with subcontractors, venders and team members regarding new projects
- Problem-solving
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate your excellent numerical skills an analytical mindset, understanding of the construction process, a strong ability to build and maintain relationships, be an effective communicator, willing to learn and focused on meeting tight deadlines.
You need to be proficient in the Microsoft office suite (excel, word, outlook), have excellent time management skills and be process driven.
