Due to ongoing contract success, TWPS seeks to appoint an experienced and energetic Leading Hand-Mechanical to the team at Loy Yang Power Station. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Leading Hand provides support and assistance for the Maintenance Work Group Leader by leading the CPS Maintenance Team to ensure that business objectives and targets are met in line with TWPS values.
 
Key responsibilities will include: 

• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to striving for zero harm to people, the environment and the plant
• Provide leadership to the work group to ensure the safety and quality of work
• Deliver feedback on activities and plant condition to the Maintenance Work Group Leader
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with standing processes and procedures
• Participate in work scope development and planning
• Maintain business relationships with stakeholders through communication, responsiveness and timely action with commitments
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement that promote and allow creative ideas and suggestions to be identified, considered and managed through to implementation.

The successful candidate showcases a history of high performance, a natural leadership style and solid technical and interpersonal skills.
 
Couple this with;

• Proven experience in an operational environment within the power/heavy industry
• Understanding of computerised maintenance management system
• Permit to work system
• Maintenance best practices
• Strong prioritising & organisational skills

Qualifications:

• Cert III Mechanical trade
• OHS Card
• Cert IV Frontline Management is advantageous
• Any other industry specific training such as High Risk Work License, Working at Heights, Confined Space add value
