Cannington is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Superintendent Processing, the purpose of this role is to plan and coordinate processing plant activities to support the operational team. This role is dynamic and will include aspects of Work Management planning, contract and cost management and representing the processing area with the project department to ensure operational requirements are met.
What the Role Entails
- Maintaining personal conduct in line with company health, safety and environmental policies, and coaches’ others
- Accountability for the improvement of production execution Work Management processes, including critical controls for material risks
- Communicating production work execution schedule actions and KPI’s to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and order production consumables and reagents
- Represent Processing for small projects and Work Management activities
- Lead the Processing department improvement initiatives and cadence KaiNexus (continuous improvement software)
- Assist in management of Processing outage activities
- Assist and/or lead safety and production loss investigations
- Contract management administration
- Provide input into strategies, budgets, and plans
- Assist the supervisory team to meet project plans
- Monitor and report on department cost spend and actively pursue opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase productivity through the application of policies and procedures, business systems, human and financial resources.
About You
The ideal candidate will need to have the following:
- A relevant Certificate / Diploma or trade would be preferred for this role along with proven experience in a similar role at a processing plant or mining environment
- Strong computer literacy including sound SAP knowledge and experience is required for this role
- Previous experience in Risk / Safety Management along with exposure to coordinating small project activities, Work Management Planning and cost management would be required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

This is a FIFO full-time role on a 4/3 roster from Townsville or Brisbane.
