Sheffield Resources is developing the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project, a large-scale mineral sands mining project with low environmental impacts and long term community benefits. The project is located 140km by road between Broome and Derby in Western Australia and has a current mine life in excess of 40 years. The two-year construction period of the project is planned to commence in 2018.

About the Position
This is an excellent short-term assignment for an experienced contracts expert to add value at a new Greenfields mining venture.
Reporting to the CFO, this position will team up with our Contracts Manager for the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project.
You will be a key point of contact representing Sheffield, providing advice and negotiating with parties for power, gas, logistics, construction, legal services and other suppliers to broker deals and set agreements in place.
This position will manage a portfolio of contracts concurrently, up to $200M in value.
About You
We are seeking an outstanding individual who has a proven track record of effectively negotiating and managing the contracting and procurement process.
The successful candidate will have:
- Degree or qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Direct accountability and management experience with a portfolio of contracts up to $200M in value.
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills for mining project related contracts.
- Capable, collaborative and decisive team member who effectively manages relationships, builds networks and influences internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Previous user of SAP – Business by Design is ideal but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively, sensitively, inclusively and respectfully with our diverse workforce and community stakeholders.
- Excellent time‐management, attention to detail and problem‐solving skills.
- A safety-first approach and continuous improvement mindset.
- A current drivers license.
Location
This position will be located in our West Perth office. Some ad hoc travel to the West Kimberley may be required.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate. It is anticipated the contract will be for a period of approximately six (6) months. Candidates who are seeking part-time and flexible work arrangements will be considered.
