Client Details

My client is a diverse management and delivery practice providing advisory services, project management and cost management service provider for public and private sector clients. The Cost Management service, in particular, provides strategic planning and feasibility stage cost advice for planned capital developments and operating expenditure through tailored and commercial cost advice. Designed to be complementary to the Advisory and Project Management teams in the development of feasibility studies and business cases, in peer reviewing cost plans and assessments from other Quantity Surveyors, and in developing detailed cost estimates and trade breakdowns for clients.

The Associate Director, under the direction of the Discipline Leader, will provide leadership and take on an active role in the delivery of multiple project commissions within the other Business Units supporting business development activities and leading/mentoring the Cost Management Consultants. The position would ideally suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is looking to steer their career towards an Associate level position with an industry leader.

Description

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to; building solid relationships internally across Advisory, PM & CM business units, supporting external business development activities and leadership/mentoring of the growing Cost Management business unit. Attend and actively participate in client meetings at Senior Executive level, inc Project Control Groups and chairing meetings as required by the Client. Support the Project Directors in the leading of project teams providing direction and encouraging collaboration through all phases of projects; undertaking project scoping and feasibility studies, development of business cases and governance plans, critical reviews of all Cost Plans and regular reviews of project cash flows providing necessary advice to Clients.

Profile

• Qualifications in Project, Cost, Construction Management or related field
• Up to 8 plus years relevant experience with a PQS / Client-side organisation, or Main Contractor with local industry experience and market understanding
• Strong technical grounding in all the main areas of quantity surveying, cost management and have a track record of service delivery
• Sound commercial background, inc familiarity with contractual conditions, procedures and ability to assess risk
• Strong ability to write and present cohesive, coherent and technically sound reports
• Experience leading, building and working to build a highly effective service offering
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage others
• Exceptional client management, networking and marketing skills
