Randstad have been engaged by one of our civil contractor clients who focus on the mining industry here in QLD, with the resurgence of coal we have seen a number of new expansion projects awarded and this client have picked up a number of stages in a recently awarded expansion.
We need an earthworks guru, someone who has moved a lot of dirt before, we also need someone who is commercially astute and has experience in cost tracking, forecasting, claims.
This is a Senior role so the successful candidate will have experience in managing engineers and survey teams.
The job will run for about 10 months however the order book is pretty full and permanent employment is on offer due to the amount of work ahead.
Reporting to the Project Manager your duties will include but not limited to:
- Management of project activities and work scope
- Acting as focal point for technical advice on contractual matters
- Forecasting and claim management
- managing the engineers and survey team
- Subcontractor management
Requirements:
- Degree qualified as a Civil Engineer, Construction Management, or equivalent
- 7+ years experience in civil infrastructure construction, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
- Effective communications skills and sub-contractor management
- Previous experience with an earthworks project on a minesite highly advantageous
