Site Supervisor
Our company specialises in internal fit-outs and through vast experience, dedication and professionalism we have established ourselves as leaders in our field allowing us to successfully deliver all projects.
Due to business growth and recent successful tenders, Interior Works is looking for an experienced Construction Site Supervisors to join the growing team in Newcastle for the next 6-9 months.
We are interested in Site Supervisors/Site Managers who have experience with the delivery of construction based projects by supervising and coordinating the on-site activities at various construction sites.
The ideal candidate would have experience in commercial fit out. Trade qualification or Construction Management qualification is preferred but not essential.
Day to day you would be involved in the following:
- Manage the construction site to deliver the project within schedule, budget and to achieve customer satisfaction every time
- Efficient coordination, control, quality and supervision of all site work conducted on behalf of Interior Works
- Supervise and provide direction to trades persons, subcontractors and labourers onsite
- In collaboration with the Project Manager manage the resources planning to meet construction schedule
- In collaboration with the Project Manager manage the procurement activities to ensure cost targets as achieved
- Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice in order to direct the progress of work and monitor compliance with construction documents
- Timely and accurate completion of all required documents and procedures such as weekly toolbox talks, incident reports etc.
- Manage and coach employees on site, manage performance and facilitate the skills and knowledge transfer for apprentices and new workers
- Recruit suitable trade resources as per the project and special skill requirements
- Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental compliance and continuous improvement
Your skills and experience will include:
- 3 + years' experience delivering projects
- Trade Certificate in relevant discipline such as drafting, building and construction, carpentry, engineering preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management with external clients and contractors with contract management with a focus on identifying and building key client relationships;
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated business planning and high-level financial knowledge and skills;
- Experience in the management of WHS for construction sites (refurbishments/fit outs/new construction);
- Proven capability of working within an environment using QA, WH&S and environmental systems;
- Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible approach to problems and opportunities
