Our client has been successful in winning a long-term SMP project based here in Western Australia offering what is probably the best Construction Roster on offer! Our client has a diverse service offering which has enabled growth through the recent tough economic years and are now exceptionally placed to continue solid growth through this next phase of expansion and projects in the mining sector.
We are searching the Perth market for an experienced SMP / Project Manager working predominately within the Heavy Industrial Projects space on mining related projects. You will be responsible from taking this next $50m project Contract award through delivery and expansion. You will take full control of all operational, commercial and contractual aspects on site while continuing to build long lasting client relationships for on-going work opportunities.
Although the main elements of your experience will relate to general materials handling, overland conveyors, crushers, stackers, reclaimers and transfer stations, you will also manage all civil, earthworks and infrastructure giving you complete responsibility for all disciplines and well-rounded exposure.
The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience:
- Ideally but not essential tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management OR Trade Qualified
- 5 - 10+ years’ experience working as a Project Manager on Heavy Industrial Construction Projects involving mechanical, structural on RESOURCE MATERIALS HANDLING EQUIPMENT
- Experience on $10m - $150m + resources projects, ideally Civil, SMP & E&I
- Experience taking $10m - $150m + projects from conception through to successful completion.
- Ability to effectively manage MULTPLE smaller projects or large projects & associated teams
- Extensive cost control experience, managing budgets, commercial and contractual issues
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
