We seek an exceptional all-round, hands on Environmental Remediation Manager to join our Civil and Remediation Division with a proven history of working on environmental remediation projects ranging from small-scale inner-city developments to large complex site remediation projects involving soil and groundwater treatment, soil vapour management, PFAS material management, obtaining regulatory approvals, managing contractor teams and liaising with a wide range of project stakeholders. 

Reporting to the Divisional Manager of Civil and Remediation in Adelaide, your main responsibilities will be to work closely with project teams on remediation project sites, working across all business divisions to provide a supporting role in obtaining regulatory approvals and providing technical advice, and developing in-house treatment systems for the wider environmental remediation market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the project teams in order to ensure compliance with Client and McMahon Services' processes.
  • Delivering environmental remediation projects to meet budget and time requirements.
  • Providing technical advice in relation to site remediation activities such as soil and groundwater treatment, soil vapour and LFG management.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of LFG collection systems.
  • Undertaking laboratory-scale trials.
  • Reviewing contaminated land consultant reports to evaluate remediation options and associated costs.
  • Obtaining regulatory approvals from all levels of Australian and International Governments where required. 
  • Assisting with the compiling of tender submissions including writing methodologies and providing costings. 

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficient abilities in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and confidence in managing complex projects.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts very quickly, be adaptable and flexible.
  • Work in a wide range of environments from metropolitan sites to remote outback communities.
  • Sound understanding of scientific principles and relevant technologies.
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • A team player with demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cope with urgency, efficiency, assign work priorities and work in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to work and report back to Adelaide head office when away.
  • Ability to travel both intra- and interstate as required.
  • Valid manual drivers licence. 
  • Training will be provided as required.

Desirable Experience:

  • Contaminated Land experience.
  • Civil Construction experience.
  • PFAS material management experience.

 

Must hold a degree in Engineering and/or Science.

A minimum of 3 years' experience working as environmental practitioner is essential.

Must be able to comply with police check and drug testing requirements.
