ABOUT THE ROLE

Known as one of the leading firms in the delivery of projects, this is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking, professional and dynamic project management consultancy.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering profitable projects from scope development through construction to hand over, providing a high quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

A high degree of client and stakeholder liaison will be involved, from feasibility stage to delivery stage of the project. Leadership, communication and people management skillset will be paramount along with a strong base of technical knowledge.

Project experience in govt. sector related specifically to Health and Education would be beneficial however their work varies across Aged Care, Commercial, Residential, Infrastructure etc. as well.

Candidates can come from client side consultancy, main contractor or consulting engineering firms.

Projects you could be working on range from $160m up to $300m. Work will be a combination of office based & site visits so some flexibility in travel will be required.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team
  • Identify key milestones for foreman short range programmes
  • Coordinate and administer quality assurance activities to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Work with Project Manager and / or Project Supervisors to ensure construction programmes are followed
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
  • Manage set project sustainability objectives from commencement to completion
  • Develop documentation for the appointment of contractors through competitive tendering
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
  • Be able to manage project expenditure and cash flow
  • Be able to manage defect identification and rectification
  • A positive and "can do" attitude and extremely high client serving standards are essential
  • Client management and consultation

  • Design Management and Value Engineering
  • Procurement of construction services
  • Cost control and cost reporting and superintendent
  • Commissioning and post contract duties for handover

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or similar
  • Minimum 3 to 5+ years industry experience in building projects
  • Experience of managing building projects from scope development to hand over
  • Experience on aged care, education, health, correctional, commercial, residential etc new build projects from $10m+ desirable
  • Ideally experience of working for a client side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Construction Safety Induction (White) card
  • Ability to read and understand building plans
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to problem solve
  • Possess effective negotiation and decision making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
