The Company  
 
A boutique construction company formed from one of Melbourne's most respected commercial construction companies. This business, although newly formed, has already created an enviable name in the market for design led apartment and townhouse projects. 

Projects 

You will initially be placed on a $12,500,000 flagship project near Heidelberg which will consist of a 50 Unit apartment block over 5 levels with double basement. 

The project is up to the first level currently and now needs a strong Site Manager to see it through to a tight deadline. This is a project of high importance and so my client is looking for a high caliber Site Manager and will pay the higher salary to secure this experience to their team.\

Typical Duties:

• Ensure OH&S
• Plan construction methods and procedures 
• Coordinate the supply of labour and materials
• Supervise construction sites and direct site managers and subcontractors to make sure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained
• Control preparation of cost estimates and the documentation for contract bids
• Control payment to subcontractors by valuation of completion works
• Make sure that building regulations and standards are enforced in building operations
• Consult with Architects, engineers and other technical workers to make sure that design intentions are met.

Essential Requirements: 

• Melbourne experience essential
• A tertiary qualification in Construction / Engineering or trade background
• Experience of running commercial / residential projects up to $20 million in value
• Previous experience of managing large site teams
• Excellent time management
• Very good written and verbal communication
• Appropriate IT skills
