About the position:
On the back of sustained growth, an opportunity for a new Area Coordinator has arisen. They will be responsible for the management, planning and delivering all activities involved in maintenance & construction services and gas supply with a major focus on safety, quality, standards and customer satisfaction.

The principal objectives of this position are to undertake work in the following areas including, but are not limited to:

• Providing a strong and effective leadership in the development of a competitive culture within the group;
• Reviewing of daily and weekly productivity QLIK reports. This will ensure the field crews are driven to achieve their targets;
• Effective cost control in line with effective contractor and resource management;
• Reviewing and authorise contractor claims/payments;
• Managing new requests for quotations and gas meter alteration quotations;
• Assisting field supervisor in emergencies situations including outages and major escapes;
• Assisting with managing resources to maintain excellent productivity and contractor & client relations;
• Managing and Coordinate all aspects relating to minor procurement, planning and organising field resources;
• Completing quality audits to ensure crews are completing works in the field to current APA Group and legislative requirements; and
• Creating and maintaining a safe working environment, meeting all legislative requirements, and facilitating the use of safe work practices.

Your time will be spent at the Somerville depot as well as in the field as you engage with on-site supervisors, staff and sub-contractors.
  
What we are looking for:
You will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within civil construction or utilities. Knowledge of mains and service pipe fittings, equipment, pipe laying, construction and maintenance will be advantageous. Previous experience in management of staff and workforce planning, as well as dealing with contractors will also be advantageous. You will also have, but not limited to:

• The proven ability to plan, organise and schedule resources to achieve efficient operations of maintenance and construction activities;
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
• Strong computer literacy skills.
