G&S Engineering Services delivers professional asset management services by providing responsive teams with targeted skills to address the maintenance, construction and engineering needs of our clients in the resources, energy and infrastructure industries. Due to our continued success and recent project wins we have a new opportunity for a SMP Estimator to join our professional and engaged team in Mackay.
At G&S, our ethos is to develop local relationships with clients while leveraging our national and international expertise to deliver on projects. Our current portfolio of projects range across a number of heavy industrial markets, affording our team the freedom and flexibility to develop well-rounded professional skills.
Aspects of the role include:
- Review and interpret scope of works
- Assist in estimating the man-hours, equipment and other resources required to complete the scope of works
- Development and submission of rates packages
- Assist in pricing projects accurately to offer the best value for our clients
- Coordinate project risk assessments
- Gather information on the potential G&S strengths and weaknesses for allocated tenders
- Liaise with other internal G&S staff to complete all necessary tender documentation for submission to the client
To be successful in this role, you will experience/knowledge with:
- An engineering or trade background with an ability to interoperate/read drawings
- Ability to estimate structural, piping & mechanical installation
- Experience in port infrastructure, coal & iron ore projects
- Ability to use Primavera or Microsoft Project advantageous
- Strong ability to interact and influence clients
- A professional approach with great communication skills
