Our client is one of Australia leading tier 2 contractors specialising in engineering, operations maintenance, and construction services nationally. Due to their continued success in winning high profile projects and alliances it has opened an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to become a part of the team and lead the commercial function of the major projects team.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the the commercial function of the projects team and Head Contract including progress claims and variations as well as ongoing cost forecasting and monthly reporting.
Your Key Responsibilities will Include:
- Develop and execute project commercial strategy with the consultation of other leadership team members;
- Ensuring that all contract agreements are appropriately established in accordance with relevant guidelines;
- Providing the project leadership team with monthly reports on project progress and claims;
- Setting up and ensuring consistent application of the companies systems across project commercial functions;
- Advising and guiding the project teams on best-practice commercial and contracts management practices;
- Analyse and proactively respond to commercial opportunities and risks.
- Experience in Rail Projects
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Demonstrated competency in effectively negotiating with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders;
- Experience working within a systematic contracting environment;
- Exceptional people management & leadership capabilities;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with managers, staff and key stakeholders;
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management;
- Sound technical knowledge and application.
- Experience in Commercial Management of Rail projects in Australia
