About the Wind Farm:

Located in Western Victoria, within 20 minutes of Ararat (205km west of Melbourne).  The full turnkey project includes 39 of Senvion's MM92 wind turbine generators and associated Balance of Plant. 

The site involves challenging terrain that will require extensive and complex civil and electrical works in addition to the over dimensional transport and installation of the turbine components.

About the role:

Reporting to the Transport, Cranage and Installation Manager, your role as WEC Construction Manager will see you play a pivotal role in successfully coordinating and managing wind turbine installation.

You will act as an interface between Senvion’s customers, C&I Contractors and land transport providers along with supervising of site-based turbine commissioning specialists and Technical Advisers.

Your role will be busy and varied and you will be accountable for: 

WEC Installation Management: 

• Management of crane, installation, commissioning and transport scope; 
• Ensuring compliance with the contract and quality and technical installation standards have been met; 
• Monitoring and management of the performance of crane and installation teams and ensure compliance with relevant instructions, specifications, quality and safety standards; and 
• Coordination and mentoring of the site installation team.

WEC Installation Coordination:

• Coordination of all incoming goods via various ports and associated quality checks;
• Coordination of on-site NCR management, turbine walk down and punch lists; and
• Coordination of all documentation and testing relating to lifting equipment and tools is updated and available as required.

The WEC Installation Manager will interface regularly with C&I contractors, Senvion’s clients, Technical Advisers and Commissioning teams, internal logistics teams (both locally and in our Head Office in Hamburg, Germany) and local project and site management teams.

Our site team will also include a Site Manager, Site Administrator, Site HSE Coordinator, Civil and Electrical Site Supervisor, Technical Adviser, Commissioning and Testing Supervisor.

You will be located onsite at the wind farm near Ararat VIC. 

What you will bring:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• An undergraduate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent Trade qualification;
• Demonstrated significant experience leading a team to successfully deliver large scale construction projects particularly within the Wind sector or equivalent; 
• Sound knowledge of cranes, transport and mechanical/electrical plant;
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to working in compliance with OHS/WHS Legislation; 
• Knowledge of Australian customs and import regulations;
• Strong administrative skills including competency with MS Word and Excel;
• Highly developed written, verbal communication skills; and
• A current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.

Travel to our Melbourne CBD offices may be required from time to time.
