Victoria-based Commercial Construction:

We are the builder and construction manager, employing foremen, construction managers and administration for the following sectors, e.g.:

  • Hospitality venues – pubs, bars, restaurants
  • Offices
  • Childcare facilities

Australia-wide Project Management Consultancy:

We act on behalf of our varied Clients to drive their projects to run on time, on budget and safely. This includes in-house design, liaison with external consultants, procurement, and constant communication with our Clients and all stakeholders, in many sectors, e.g.:

  • Fuel
  • Renewable energy
  • Infrastructure

We were formed in 2012, and we currently have 22 employees.  Our impressive Client list is the result of listening to and understanding their needs, delivering on promises and attention to detail. We have a lot of repeat Clients, as well as many new ones, and our aim is to make our Client’s life easier.

Our office environment is dynamic, and we are based near Flagstaff Station. We enjoy our team events and charity activities on a regular basis.

The Opportunity:

Both our Client-side Project Management and our Commercial Builder sides of the business have new, exciting projects locked in, so we are looking for the right person to help us keep delivering at the high level SwitchCo is now known for. 

We are looking to find an intelligent, motivated, eager & flexible team member who will hit the ground running, make a positive impact and help us all continue to build the business.

As Project Manager you will expected to be autonomous - responsible for all time, budget and quality aspects of the projects you are managing.  You will run the projects but have the support and guidance from the Senior PMs & Directors. You will be expected to help coach assistant PMs.

Your core duties in this role will include:

  • Driving high quality outcomes
  • Client & stakeholder management
  • Programming
  • Design & documentation management
  • Managing site teams and personnel
  • Ensuring best practice in quality & safety 
  • Procurement
  • Project administration including contract management
  • Budget & cashflow management
  • Management & Client reporting
  • Project invoicing

Salary offer subject to level of experience.

About You:

The right candidate will demonstrate that they have been in a project management role for a minimum of 5 years.  Should you have less than 5 years then there may be other opportunities at SwitchCo, such as Assistant PM or Project Coordinator and we encourage you to apply noting this in your cover letter.

You will be proactive, crave learning, and be driven to deliver high quality outcomes. You’ll be able to juggle multiple projects and conflicting priorities. You will have already looked after projects from start to finish.  You’ll want to eventually progress to a senior level and help your team build the business even further.

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project management or construction management role
  • Bachelor of Building, Engineering or Architectural Degree. Similar degrees will be considered
  • Reasonable knowledge of building industry contracts and sound construction administration practices
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office software (word, excel etc.) and Microsoft Project
  • Exceptional ability to communicate at all levels
  • Efficient time management and organisational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a consultancy
  • Engineering background
  • Hands-on experience on a construction site
  • Experience with Procore
