Site Manager - Wollongong - High Rise Tower

An immediate requirement for a Site Manager to join a Project team based in Wollongong to deliver a multi-story residential tower development in Wollongong. The project, currently at site establishment and excavation stage is due for handover in Dec 2021, following a 2-and-a-half-year programme. The development includes demolition, construction of an 18-storey residential & commercial development including 3 x levels of basement car parking. It will be a landmark project in the Wollongong area.
 
As the number 1 Site Manager on the project, reporting to the site based Project Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the construction project including;

• Reading construction plans and drawings
• Will manage multiple Site Foreman and Leading Hands  
• Management of crane towers and logistical issues 
• Strong OH&S management and Site safety practices
• Forward planning and Trouble-shooting  
• Direction and management of multiple sub-contractors
• Regular correspondence with the Project Manager ensuring project milestones are being met
• Can assist with the construction programme ensuring the project is delivered on-time and within budget – weekly and monthly programme meetings

To be suitable for this position, it is expected you will possess the following skills.

• Will have a Trade / Carpentry background and progressed through to a Site Management position.
• Will have a track record of delivering residential apartment constructions projects at a Tier-1 level.
• Will have managed an on-site team consisting Leading Hands, Site Foreman.
• Will have been responsible for sites with 100+ personnel
• Will have delivered projects from inception through to hand-over
• Will have a thorough understanding of both structures and finishes.
• Has a positive attitude to building multi-storey apartment and commercial projects.
• Will have a basic grasp of I.T – Emails and Microsoft Office. Programming experience through Microsoft Projects would be hugely beneficial
• Should live in the South Sydney / Wollongong area.
