With a primary focus of ensuring a safe and hazard free workplace for all personnel, your duties for the position shall include:

• Implementation of the Health Safety & Environmental Management Plan and associated procedures onsite
• Ensure adherence to client polices, plans and procedures
• Actively contribute to delivering a project free from incidents injury and environmental harm
• Ensure all safety related responsibilities are undertaken by all personnel including site inspections, risk assessments and preparation of Job Hazard Analysis
• Carry out regular site safety inspections and audits
• Monitoring the status of corrective and preventative actions identified, and provide advice and reports to Project Management on close-out actions
• Report on all site health, safety and environment matters to the Project Manager
• Conducting behavioural based observations in accordance with procedures
• Other HSE duties as required

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining and construction industry
• Previous experience providing HSE services in a remote environment
• Relevant qualifications in OH&S (Cert IV), Diploma level or higher
• Relevant working knowledge of OH&S legislation & HSE management practices
• Knowledge and understanding of civil construction methods and materials
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written,
• An ability to self-generate work and operate with minimum supervision
• Excellent computer skills with a sound knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Manual driver’s license
• Current first aid certification
