Purchasing Officer – Estimating

An exciting opportunity has recently presented itself as part of Ausbuilds Estimating team to manage the delivery of procurement and supplier performance.

The role

As the Purchasing Officer at Ausbuild you will proactively build strong relationships with supply partners and contractors in efforts to ensure cost, quality products and service is delivered, with reliability and timeliness. You will be on the front foot, developing, implementing and reviewing market conditions in line with purchasing strategies.

The successful applicant will possess:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing and contract management in the residential building industry
• A tertiary qualification in purchasing or purchasing related subjects will be highly considered
• Experience in Production, Sales, R&D or Estimating Management is highly desired for this role
• Well-developed communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop successful relationships across many levels
• Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
• A high level of attention to detail
• Ability to report on new and discontinued products, product/cost comparisons
• Demonstrated experience in developing policies and procedures, setup systems/processes for procurement
• Identify and resolves problems, and proactively review continuous improvement initiatives and quality
• Excellent building and technical knowledge of the residential construction industry including the build processes and procedures
• A strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practise and industry standards and WHS requirements
• Intermediate to advance computer literacy and analytical skills, especially in use of software such as Databuild, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• The ability to travel to supplier networking functions and events will be required
