VEC is seeking a General Superintendent who will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the effective planning, coordination and management of the Scottsdale Irrigation project in Tasmania.

You will be responsible for field operations on the project assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of the project. You will be directly supervising field crews, including subcontractors. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

ABOUT YOU

• Extensive  and relevant infrastructure experience
• Proven ability to plan and manage projects, including the development of maintenance programs, scheduling resources, supervising multiple work teams and plant/machinery and programming works
• Effective judgement and decision making skills
• A IV or higher qualification in a related discipline, i.e. project management, supervision and/or construction management would be desirable
• Effective cost control techniques
• Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability to lead teams
