The Company
Our client is an established and renowned Construction, manufacture and install business that has worked on a number of landmark projects. With the head office based in Melbourne, they are a sub-contractor of choice for a number of leading Tier 1 and 2 builders due to their high attention to detail and quality products.
The Role
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Estimator within the Melbourne office. You will have overall responsibility for sales and production estimates, preparing bids and submitting proposals, follow up on post tender stage enquiries, preparation of client variations, producing purchase orders and bills of quantities. This role reports directly to one of the Directors. With this in mind, you must have the ability to take a proactive approach in client networking, recognising new customer sales opportunities and developing and maintaining close working relationships with external clients including site contacts and suppliers.
The Candidate
To secure this career enhancing role you will have the following skills and experience.
- Trade/Tertiary qualifications in construction
- 5+ years’ experience in Estimating.
- Worked on both commercial and residential projects.
- Strong skill in reading and understanding construction drawings
- Demonstrated ability to generate accurate take off’s and BOQ’s
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication and computer skills – particularly Excel
