DESCRIPTION

Great opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer in Sydney. Our client is a top Australian builder seeking to add an experienced H&S officer. The position comes with a generous package, ancillary benefits and further career opportunities.

Our client, a top tier building contractor is a seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to manage one of their biggest sites in Western Sydney. This would be a wonderful opportunity for the successful candidate to progress within one of the biggest contractors in Sydney. 

Necessary skills and requirements:

1.Third Level education in Health and Safety or related discipline is required

2.A minimum of 3 years Health and Safety experience with a main contractor

3.Qualification in manual handling instruction would be an advantage

4.Experience in leading and carrying out works on demolition sites

5.Ability to deliver training modules to all levels of the Organisation to include, first aid, manual handling and fire warden training

6.Highly motivated and meticulous in attention to professional standards

7.Ability to work in a team environment and can engage, motivate and work with people

8.Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills

Requirements:

1.Develop, monitor, implement and audit Health and Safety procedures/policies in business

2.Update and maintain Health and Safety procedures and the Organisation’s Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements

3.Carry out risk assessments and ensure risks are reduced

4.Keep record of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for senior management

5.Provide Training; Induction, Refresher and Manual Handling Training as required

6.Co-Ordinate the Health and Safety committee for all sites and ensure regular monthly meetings

7.Improve the health and safety culture, through training and awareness campaigns
